9/5/2023 0 Comments Root inkbook primeI also don’t like how there is no built in dictionary and no dedicated English language bookstore. The cons are the wireless internet constantly shutting off when it is idle for a few minutes and you have to visit the settings menu to have it scan again. This e-reader has WIFI, Bluetooth and Android 4.2.2. What I like about the Prime is that it has physical page turn buttons, so you have the option to hold it with one hand and turn the pages or simply using the touchscreen. You can highlight words, make notes or lookup the meaning of the word, but there is no built in dictionary, you look up the meaning of the word via Google. If you are feeling like you want Amazon Ember, Bookerly or the new Google Literata font, you can easily install it on your own. It has a number of fonts available to increase the size and the font type. The stock e-reading experience is fairly solid. If you live in Western Europe or North America, you might want to install Amazon, B&N, Kobo or a number of other online retailers that have their own app. There is also a store to buy e-books, but it is primarily aimed at a Polish speaking audience. There are a number of Prime apps that are available, such as a cloud storage system to house your entire e-book collection and also an RSS Reader so you can catch up on the latest news from your favorite blog. You might want to install the Good e-Reader App Store for E Ink which has thousands of apps and is optimized for e-readers. There is a built in app store, but it only has a paltry selection of around 12 different e-reading apps. The Prime is running Android 4.2.2 and lets you install your own apps. This could be irksome if you are browsing a store and looking at the various titles on the screen, by the time you find something you like and click on the cover art the signal has to be reinitialized which takes time. One of the downsides about the Prime is that WIFI tends to automatically shut off if you are not using it. You will be able to hook up a pair of Bluetooth headphones or speakers to the Prime and listen to music or an audiobook. It has wireless internet access and Bluetooth, but no speakers. The 2000mAh Li-ION Polymer battery should last around four weeks of using the stock e-reading experience and the dimensions are 159×114×9 mm and weighs 168 g. If you feel like enhancing it further you can slot in a 32GB SD Card. There is 8GB of internal storage, which i s double the standard amount that ships with most e-readers. Underneath the hood is a Quad-Core Cortex A9 up to 1.6 GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. There is a large demographic of people who ride public transit and are holding onto a pole or guard rail with one hand and read with the other. I think page turn buttons are tremendous on e-readers. The back of the Prime has a grooved contour that is meant to assist in holding it with one hand. The Prime has buttons on the left and right side, which means you can hold it with one hand and quickly flip pages. Many companies have abandoned manual page turn buttons and rely exclusively on the touchscreen to turn the pages of an e-book. You can read in the dark via the front-lit display and it has 8 LED lights, which provides great illumination that is evenly distributed across the screen. The screen is completely flush with the bezel, this makes it easier to use the touchscreen. The InkBook Prime features a six inch e-Ink Carta touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 758 and 212 PPI. The overall build quality premium device is really solid and it won a Red Dot award for industrial design. Arta Tech has been developing e-readers for a number of years and have scored a major victory with the InkBook Prime. Shot on the campus of Mount Carmel High School in South Central Los Angeles, a defunct school that had closed a few years earlier, Arkush made the most of the location, including spray-painting the hallways, something they didn’t necessary have permission to do. And I think it was a good portrait of some kind of tyrant like that. She’s crazy about power, she’s absolutely sexually deranged. I like her because, one, she’s about power. I mean, not as eclectic as the Mau Maus or Fear or something like that, but why didn’t they go somewhere? When they were raw, they were good.ĪVC: Do you have a particular favorite Miss Hogar line? I thought they were brilliant, I really did. The bands in Los Angeles were incredible, and I liked them, but they never got anywhere. But they were in New York, and the whole punk scene in New York was violently different from the punk scene in Los Angeles. Were you already familiar with the Ramones, then? Club: You said you’d been into punk at the time. I told Allan, “Thank you for this role, because what I need is just a nice TV series, and I’m gonna do it like I’m Eve Arden.” And he said, “That’s fine, Mary.” And then they dressed me up and they gave me makeup, I showed up on set with all these punk-rockers, and… I just turned into Miss Togar. Club, Woronov detailed her experiences on the film as well as her familiarity with the Ramones before taking on the project. In her Random Roles interview with the A.V. In turn, Riff teams up with the Ramones to take back the school, resulting in a famous encounter between Togar and the band when she poses the immortal question, “Do your parents know you’re Ramones?” When Principal Togar (Mary Woronov) takes away Riff’s ticket, she embarks on a quest to find another way to attend the show, ultimately winning a radio contest, but in the meantime, Principal Togar teams up with school parents to host a rock ‘n’ roll record burning event. Soles of Halloween fame as Riff Randell, a student at the notoriously rebellious Vince Lombardi High School, who loves the Ramones with all of her heart, waits in line for three days to buy a ticket to their show - not just to see them live, mind you, but to present Joey with the song she’s written for the band: a little ditty called “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.” READ MORE: Remembering the Ramones' Rip-Roaring First Album Per an interview with Turner Classic Movies, Corman had originally wanted to have Cheap Trick or Todd Rundgren as the primary musical artist of the film, but when neither panned out due to scheduling conflicts, cast member Paul Bartel pitched the Ramones, and history was made. Case and point: the original title of the project was Disco High, which had emerged out of an initial story idea by Arkush and Joe Dante, and at another point it was tentatively called Heavy Metal Kids. Having made several teen-centered films earlier in his career, Corman was of a mind to offer up a similar sort of motion picture for audiences in the late ‘70s, and to be perfectly honest, he wasn’t so much flying the flag of punk rock as he was trying to latch onto something that was popular with the kids. 9/5/2023 0 Comments Corona gideros love moaiIt doesn't take a massive catalog of games to inspire confidence, it takes one or two very good games. Fortunately, this is probably the easiest thing to fix over time. No matter how crap something might be when you jump in to it, you have baseline assurances that it is at least capable of accomplishing X. One of those key metrics in place of experience then is shipped products and as bowerandy already said, to a developer evaluating a prospective technology, this is *HUGE*. at least, not if they actually want to get something done. This isn't so useless as it initially sounds, as anyone evaluating a new technology isn't going to spend half a year with each. Therefore the comparison is based almost entirely on initial experience *and* perceptions. This means I am not encountering those annoyances you only encounter when you actually live with something every day. This guide was very much the former type. Then there are the reviews where the author lives with the car for 6months or more, then writes about their entire experience and what the car was like to actually live with. The type where an author takes a car out for a drive, perhaps thrashes it around the track a few times, then writes up his or her impressions. Second, this was by no means a comprehensive review, think of it like a car review. Hello all, as the author of the comparison, I thought I would chime in with a small bit of explanation.įirst and foremost, I was quite impressed by Gideros, it was perhaps the biggest shock of all the programs I looked at, as it was also the one I knew the least about. Some of the Corona apps that look amazing (graphics) are shoddy as far as code is concerned and there are some average apps that have amazing things in the background but fail on the graphics. One unfortunate thing that remains is that an app is as good as it looks. Yes, it is still a mental comfort to know that there are apps made with a certain framework. Plus on the topic of number of apps, if you look at how many of those apps are current and valid, you will get an idea on the situation. Many developers have already posted their code onto the community code for Corona. The list of features have remained kind of stagnant since the fact that most new devs look for code samples and most of them fail to realise that 90% of the code samples that they are looking for are Lua based than framework specific. Plus the factor that catapulted Corona into the limelight was not the Pro or the polished features, it was Bubble Ball. There are many other factors that help the cause of Corona like being based in the Silicon Valley, where access to media and audience are plenty. Most of which were not available for Androids, so if we use the Andy-Wax-Plug-in, we have access to all of that and more, I posted an article on how to use twitter in 3 lines of Lua, now Corona does not have that as yet. I do agree with that Gideros can make pro apps, the things that kept it apart from Corona was the access to MapKit, Video, WebView, etc. However there are some wonderful apps created using Gideros from Alex, Phongg, HGVyas. The other factor of maximum number of apps released, it is also due to the fact that a lot of developers used corona in the past when that was the only Lua based framework and have not released any new Lua based apps for various reasons. now even if the entire source code was made available, what would majority of the developers using Corona, Gideros or Moai do? If they did want to do something with the underlying layers, they would have already done something by now, not looked at Lua frameworks Moai's source code is available and so is Codea Runtime, LÖVE to name a few, why hae these not been taken and integrated to form a new framework or a custom engine? Secondly, the availability of source code. The reviewer is definitely not from a object oriented background otherwise Gideros API fits right in. Good choice for beginner who wants to support mobile, lack of major published games a bit of a deterrent for professional developers, as is the lack of source code 9/5/2023 0 Comments Combine dictionaries pythonThen, we create a new variable (called new) and assign the dictionary with d3,d4 parameters using the exponential operator (basically we update with the methods from the d3 and d4 dictionary). Then, using the update method, we update d2 with values of d1, basically merging the two dictionary items as updated elements.Next, the update method ( d1) with the values of d2 merge and the two dictionaries’ items are updated.Next, we initialize a variable ( d4) and give it the dictionary ( d2).Then, we create dictionary d1 with key values 4,5,6 and other fruits as values.Next, we initialize a variable ( d3) and give it the same value as the dictionary ( d1).First, we create a dictionary ( d1) with the values set as fruit names.Values can be of any data type and duplicated, whereas keys can’t be repeated and must be immutable. Merge two dictionaries together such that the resulting dictionary always retain the greater value among mappings with common keys. update () Dictionaries in Python have an in-built method for merging two dictionaries. Here you can create a dictionary with input data in the form of key-value pairs because Merging two dictionaries together, or concatenating different. desired output and the current one (considering that the dict values are simply iterables (whether they are Python or numpy or any other kind is irrelevant)). Python Priority key assignment in dictionary 5. Python Combine two dictionary adding values for common keys 4. Combine similar characters in Python using Dictionary Get () Method 3. If both dictionaries contain the same key and different values, then the final output will overwrite the value of the latter dictionary.A dictionary is a collection of key-value pairs or items that can be referred to using a key name.ĭuplicate items are unordered items do not have a specific order, changeable, and do not allow duplicates. Using for loop You can use a for loop to copy the entries of one dictionary to another. Python - Combine two dictionaries having key of the first dictionary and value of the second dictionary 2. Hence, no new dictionary is created, and it returns None. Using the update method, the first dictionary is merged with the other one by overwriting it. In Python 3.9, the merge ( ) operator was added to. You can merge two dictionaries in python using the update() method. In Python, it is a merge () operator that is used to join two dictionaries in a single line of code. If you are still working in Python 2.7, then using the plus (+) sign to combine items from the two dictionaries produces a single expression solution. How to Merge Dictionaries in Python?īelow are the 8 unique methods by which you can concatenate two dictionaries in python: 1) Using update() method We merge two dictionaries when we need to store two different parts of a common database. For example, if you were to keep a record of all the passwords used on a device, you would implement a dictionary that keeps a track of all the different password values to the corresponding keys of all the apps they are used for.īut what happens when you need to combine the password records of two or more devices you own? This is the situation where we need it. They can prove exceptionally useful to store data that has to be indexed. One new approach to merge dictionaries in Python is to use the built-in ChainMap class from the collections module. When is the need to merge dictionaries?ĭictionaries are used to store key-value pairs. Check how to create a python dictionary to learn more. Merge two dictionaries and sum the values using a for loop Use a for loop to iterate over the items of the first dictionary. 9/5/2023 0 Comments Citation itraceWhen poor vision occurs after a premium lens implantation, an undilated scan with the iTrace will bring the root cause to light. ject (Garrett & Robinson, 2012) developed the visual retrieval tool iTrace and tested it in sev- eral art schools. Perform hand hygiene.Touch the line or tube and Trace it from the insertion point on the patient back to the point of origin. Since the iTrace is the only device that can accurately scan the complex architecture of a premium IOL, these post-surgical benefits are not exclusive to toric lenses. Illuminate the patient care area whenever invasive medical lines and tubes are manipulated (initiated, accessed, maintained,T or discontinued). A surgeon can easily review the estimated benefits of rotating a toric lens with a patient after understanding how much cylinder is likely to change. iTrace toolkit provides the complete toolchain. If a patient isn’t satisfied with their vision after surgery, an iTrace scan is an invaluable tool for your practice. That means that after a lens replacement procedure, the iTrace can be used to validate surgical results or explore surgical surprises. To support researchers working in specific areas such as program comprehension, iTrace Toolkit supports mapping raw gazes and fixations to syntactic and token information derived from source code written in C, C++, C, or Java. The iTrace is the only device that can measure accurately through artificial lenses. Output from iTrace is intended to be generic enough for any type of task. The iTrace’s wavefront map displays both the axis of the cylinder internally and the corneal steep axis, which is confirmed by topography.īecause ray tracing is the only way to accurately measure through a toric lens, the iTrace is the only device that calculates the predicted post-surgical refraction and automatically suggests any rotation that will optimize the location of a toric lens. iTrace Toolkit - Analysis and Supporting Tools. Also, Obey Me! isn't the game for you if you're looking to encourage your kid to spend quality time on their gadget or if you want them to play games that help them develop skills like problem-solving. Obey Me! is a game best suited for teens and adults due to its suggestive themes and content. It's also a good idea to ensure that other areas of their lives, like school and extracurricular activities, are not being neglected in favor of the game. Like any form of entertainment, moderation is key. You can also talk to your kids about how much they should spend on games like Obey Me! and agree on what's appropriate.Īs for the game's addictive qualities, it's essential to discuss with your kids how much time they should spend playing Obey Me!. To avoid any unwanted charges, it's best to set up parental controls on your device so that in-app purchases can't be made without a password. If you believe your kid is emotionally mature enough to play the game, there are two more things to consider: the app's in-app purchases and its addictive qualities. Parents should be aware of the game's rating and approach it with caution. In short, the Obey Me game is inappropriate for children due to its suggestive themes and content. Furthermore, the game's narrative is driven by an addictive roleplay plot in which players gradually receive new information and other things to collect for users who play more. As a result, those who are invested in the narrative will have a greater incentive to spend on in-app purchases. If you have any concerns, it is always best to speak with your child about the game before allowing them to play.Īlthough the download is free at first, Obey Me! is designed to get users to make in-app purchases by making the game more enjoyable as they acquire more objects and in-game money. They should also consider the child's maturity level and ability to handle mature themes. In general, parents should be aware of the game's content and use their discretion when deciding whether or not it is appropriate for their child. Additionally, the game promotes in-game spending, which could lead to financial problems for some players. Obey Me! in particular, is not recommended for children or teens, as it has sexual content and profanity. Parents should be aware that otome games, while often containing suggestive content, are generally not meant for children and may contain mature themes. What Should Parents Know about Otome Game? Furthermore, there is a huge push for in-game spending. Also, the game's characters are often shown wearing very little clothing. Obey Me! occasionally uses bad language and sexually suggestive scenes (such as "whip" the brothers). However, we don't think this game suits children or teens. To progress in the game, players must follow the tale - often selecting their path or forming their version of events - while also completing daily activities and "dance battles" to earn cards, in-game money, and items.Īccording to Obey Me!, the game is suitable for players aged 13 and up due to the game's sexual themes and use of profanity. One of the game's primary objectives is to win the brothers' affections, or as the game puts it, to boost the player's "intimacy level" with them. While there, players encounter seven demon brothers during their journey, and the plot focuses on their linked relationships and distinct personality qualities based on the Seven Deadly Sins. In the Obey Me game, players are cast as human exchange students sent to the fictitious underworld academy, Devildom. In Japan, the genre is prevalent among teenagers and younger women, but the genre is getting increasingly popular among Western audiences. The otome games are usually designed to appeal to women since the user's character is often a female. Otome games are video games that focus on storytelling and include a romantic relationship as one of the main objectives. Obey Me! is a romance simulation game, also known as an otome game, created by NTT Solmare Corporation. 9/5/2023 0 Comments Typeeto bluetoothAdded: support for dark mode on macOS 10.14 and higher. Coated with cracker crumbs, the oysters are crisp, plump, and piping hot, each of them served in an oyster shell. Ever since Charles described them a few days ago, I’ve had her fried oysters on my mind. Tucked into a cozy table near the fireplace by general manager Tara Padilla, we order cocktails: a lavender mead mule for my friend, made with particularly zesty house-made ginger beer, and a refreshing Tekiwi-tequila, Cointreau, kiwi juice, and lime-for me. On a chilly Friday evening, a friend and I are instantly warmed by both the friendly greeting and the mood at Spat, which is nearly full with a lively crowd. “Pearl in New York was meant to be a little breath of Maine, and Spat is meant to be a little piece of what New York might have been like at the turn of the last century, when there were oyster bars by the hundreds,” Charles says. Downstairs, Spat Oyster Cellar is a cozy low-ceilinged space designed to evoke an old-school New York City oyster bar. One side of the room is dominated by a massive fieldstone fireplace that is flanked with wine storage cabinets on the opposite side is a long bar with classic bentwood bar stools that match the dining chairs. A fan of minimalist design, Charles kept the look of the large dining room deliberately spare, painting the vaulted ceiling and walls a subdued greige ( Benjamin Moore’s Weimaraner) and stripping and refinishing the wide boards of the pine floor. The three-story building had to be stripped to the studs, delaying her opening until last summer.
